Received laptop sept. 8. Order number56405207. Ordered granddaughter a 13 in. Apple MacBook. White. New. 50o GB HDD 4 GB Ram latestMac08 2017 Paid $275.83 for it. It has mars on bottom of it. On each bottom corner you can tell it’s not new. Won’t stay charged. She tries to put her Apple ID in but it asks for ID of last person that had it. I think this was misrepresented. It did saw NEW. My granddaughter needed this for school. Not doing her any good.

Sears - Defective Refurbished Macbook

I purchased a refurbished Macbook on Nov. 11 from the Sears Marketplace nd received it in time to give it to my 12 year old granddaughter for Christmas When she opened it on Christmas and tried it, it made a strange rapping nouse, one key was off, and the backspace didn't work at all. Also could not get on the Internet at all. Very fisappointed in this laptop. I tried to call Sears about this to no avail. They told me because it was from the marketplace they could do nothing. They gave me the sellers email which I wrote with no answer at all. This is stealing peoples money for a defective product. Apple doesn't have any retail stores in 2015, as they just got approval by the Indian government to build Apple Stores, so I don't believe this guy has his story straight. I think he was dealing with Apple resellers and an Authorized Apple Service provider, but not necessarily Apple the company.

Kind of sad but again, his story doesn't sound like he was dealing with Apple directly when he bought his computer, when he bought the Apple Care (which I think he bought AFTER the warranty was already over since he mentioned that), companies don't sell service contracts AFTER the initial warranty is up. they only sell it BEFORE the initial warranty runs out.

I think his complaint while it sounds legitimate shouldn't necessarily be directed towards Apple but the Apple reseller he dealt with and the service provider.
