The newest version of iTunes allows a user to proceed beyond the point when the previous hiccup ended the restore process corrupted during a software update. Prior to this happening the user could not update the phone because the Windows 10 iTunes interface completely failed complaining about not having the latest version of iTunes.

Well, tonight a newer version of iTunes was available and seems to have fixed the issue. I'm amidst a restore with an Apple on my phone. After 15 phone calls and 15 cases (none ever documented) and there was no assistance escalating the issue and helping with the fix. Notwithstanding, I'd love to provide candid feedback about the broken processes and lackluster experience if you're interested then please let me know.

There shining light in an otherwise bleak situation. Horrific doesn't pale in comparison to the inept and inexcusable processes and tracking of an issue. Regardless, no sanity in an otherwise insane situation and comedy of errors. A minor example of the frustration when opening a case with Apple a user cannot enter a phone number other than the number associated with the user-id on the Apple phone.

Parochial analysis lends itself to a dead-end wall if the user's phone is down. Simply stated I doubt any functional, regression or stress testing occurs at Apple. Nor does Apple have knitted processes for support for a phone costing over $1K while under warranty and broken with a code update.

I'd pay good money to tie an Apple support exec to my chair for this debacle -- clearly reproducible and only tended by drones in an Apple store and sophomoric phone techs -- oh yeah!@! They're Apple Geniuses!!!

User's recommendation: Hope you don't need support when an upgrade breaks you phone.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Apple Pros: Works when it works, Root canal better then the apple customer service.

Apple Cons: Horrific support, Broken processes, No means for escalation for a reproducible problem, Unprofessional and dishonest, Not to be trusted.
